New and Memorable Web Addresses Launched for Arizona Voters:
PHOENIX – April 27, 2015 – Arizona Secretary of State Michele Reagan and the .VOTE registry are pleased to announce two new and simple web addresses have been launched for Arizona voters — www.arizona.vote and www.arizona.voto. These two new online destinations make it easier for people to locate information related to voter registration and election information.
The new domains of .VOTE and its Spanish/Italian/Portuguese counterpart .VOTO were designed to help elected officials, governments, candidates and organizations make it easier for voters to access legitimate election information on the Internet. Research shows only 24% of Arizona voters know where to go online to find voter information, voting locations, or candidate details. 72% want a simple web address like www.arizona.vote that’s logical and easy-to-remember.
“With the recent expansion of Internet domain names, obtaining arizona.vote and arizona.voto was a simple way to make it easier for people to find out information related to voting and elections in Arizona,” said Secretary Reagan. “Our site provides comprehensive details on things such as voter registration, polling places, election dates, and what to bring with you to the polls. With these two memorable domains, we hope when people think about voting, they think arizona.vote.”
“We are proud to have provided a dedicated space on the Internet for voter engagement,” said Chuck Warren, president of the domain registry for .VOTE and .VOTO. “The launch of the .VOTE/.VOTO domains is a big step forward in our country’s democratic process as better-informed voters will make better voting decisions.”
